Joyce Maxine Parker

Joyce Maxine Parker, 70, of Urbana passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 in her residence.
She was born on October 23, 1947 in Hillsboro, OH a daughter of Howard Faye and Viola (Mattox) Gibson. Joyce was personable, loving and strong and family was her top priority as she cherished her time with her grandchildren. She loved Christmas and Elvis and enjoyed going “down home” to Hillsboro, OH to visit family. She was a graduate of Jackson High School.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years and best friend, David Parker; children, Joyce Ann (Timbo) Gillenwater, Michael (Julie Dunlap) Parker, Stacey (Jaime) Parker, Kelly Parker and Mandy (Mark Vogtsberger) Parker; grandchildren, Timothy “TJ”, Carol and Shawn Gillenwater, Tiffney (Jeremy) Hampton, Brandon, Alexis, Taylor, Triana, Christian and Julie Parker, Jordan Vogtsberger, Austin Gillis and Ashlyn Dunn; 3 great-grandchildren, Hadley and Jack Hampton and A’mare White; brothers, Johnnie (Becky) Gibson and Ronnie (Terri) Gibson; special cousins, Sharlene Estep and Barbara Ross; special friends, Elizabeth Herriott and Charlie Toadvine; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Robin Smith; and siblings, Janie Ballentine, Jackie Gibson and Judy Gibson.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2018 in the WALTER & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, where a service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery.
