Zaida M. Morgan

Zaida Michael (Hemp) Morgan passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Hearth and Home Assisted Living, Urbana. Zaida was born June 1, 1925 in Montgomery County, Ohio, the daughter of Elden and Zaida (Busch) Hemp who preceded her in death.

Zaida graduated from Brookville High School in 1942. Her work included 39 years with Standard Register in Dayton, 9 years with GMDC in Colorado Springs, CO and 6 years with Urbana (OH) Senior Center. She enjoyed travel and especially grateful that she was able to visit Switzerland and Alaska. She loved the exploring she and husband Richard did while living in Colorado for 9 years.

Zaida also enjoyed reading and was a member of Friends of the Library for Champaign County for many years. She was also a member of the Urbana-Champaign County Senior Center.

Zaida is survived by her husband of over 69 years, Richard Morgan, of Urbana; in laws, Jim (Barb) Morgan of Wapakoneta; Maryann Downing and Dan Morgan of Bellefontaine; Rosalie Hemp of Greenville OH, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jack D. Hemp of Greenville.

Cremation has been handled by WALTER & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME, Urbana. There will be no services.
