Alice L. Schneider

Alice L. Schneider, 91, of Urbana, peacefully passed away at 5:31 P.M., Saturday, August 24, 2013 on her way to Mass. She was born June 3, 1922 in Union City, OH, the oldest daughter of six children of Edgar and Blanche (Dillon) Snyder. Alice was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church, member of the Daughters of Isabella, The Ladies Sodality, St. Mary Prayer Line, and the Nursing Visitations. She was on the board at Lawnview School & CCMRDD. She was also very active in the Urbana Senior Citizens and the Champaign County Arts Council Arts Council. Survivors include daughters, Rose Mary Pratt of Urbana, Alicia Schneider, both of Urbana, Regina Barger and her husband Mike of Powell, OH, sons, Thomas Schneider, Anthony Schneider and Timothy Schneider and his wife Sharron all of Urbana, her grandkids, Emily Schneider, of Salisbury NC, Ashlyn Schneider of Dublin, Joshua and Matthew Pratt of Urbana, Charles, Kyle and Mitchell Barger of Powell brother Bill Snyder and his wife Marilyn of Knoxville, TN a sister Marjorie Morse of Union City, sister-in-law Carol Snyder of St. Marys, brother-in-law Gene Hart of Union City and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles W., two daughters, Cecilia and Jane Frances, her parents Edgar and Blanche Snyder, a brother Robert Snyder of St. Marys, sisters , Anne Boze and her husband Jack and Etta Hart all of Union City, brother-in-law, Rex Morse. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 29, 2013 in St. Mary Catholic Church 203 Washington Ave, Urbana, OH 43078 with Father Larry Gearhart, Celebrant. The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 28, 2013 in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 642 S. Main St., Urbana. Entombment will follow in Oak Dale Mausoleum, Urbana. If you wish, contributions may be made in Alices memory to the St. Vincent DePaul Society c/o St. Mary Church, Urbana or to the Urbana Senior Citizen Center, 701 S.
