Beverly Sue Cardosa

Beverly Sue (Skaggs) Cardosa, age 55, of Westville, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. She was born on September 10, 1960, in Urbana, to the late Jerry and Betty (Holland) Skaggs. Beverly loved children with all her heart. She would spoil any child that she could, and make them feel as if they were her own. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, decorating her home and collecting antiques.

Beverly leaves behind her loving husband of 34 and a half years, Gilberto Cardosa; children, Lorenzo Cardosa of Springfield, Nina Cardosa of Michigan, Juanita Cardosa of Michigan, Kenneth R. Cardosa of Westville, and Allen M. Cardosa of Westville; brothers, William (Nancy) Skaggs of Urbana, Michael (Robin) Skaggs of Piqua, Dan (Judy) Skaggs of Urbana, David Skaggs of Dayton; sisters, Linda Freeman of Springfield, Vinnie (Neal) Weber of Springfield, Deana (Frank) Pimienta of Springfield, Luann Skaggs of Springfield, Valarie (Dave) Trostel of Urbana; grandchildren, Alec and Virginia of Springfield, Nikki, Justin, Jasmine, Brooklyn, Molly, and Mason of Michigan; sisters-in-law, Emma Holbrook of Urbana, Eva Emans of Celina, Juanita Goeser of Springfield; brothers-in-law, Walt McNeely of Urbana, and Leo Smith of Springfield, Steve (Ellen) Cardosa of Springfield, Alex Cardosa of Urbana, Eli (Susan) Cardosa of Michigan; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Along with her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by a brother, Don Skaggs; two sisters, Evelena McNeely and Marsha Smith; mother-in-law, Nemesia Cardosa; father-in-law, Steve Cardosa; and brother-in-law, Jim Emans.

A visitation will be held in the WALTER & STOWE FUNERAL HOME (642 S. Main St., Urbana) on Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. with a funeral service to begin at 4:30 p.m., with Pastor Tony Peña officiating. Condolences may be expressed to the family by visiting www.walterfunerals.com.
