Clarence Monroe Borders Jr., 83, of Springfield, died Thursday, November 15, 2012 in Essex of Springfield. He was born November 2, 1929 in Mechanicsburg, OH the son of Clarence M. and Zora Mae (Castle) Borders Sr. Clarence retired as a self-employed electrician, and enjoyed fishing and his grandchildren. Survivors include daughters, Linda Monroe of Urbana and Patricia Medley of Urbana, son Jeffrey Borders of Urbana, stepsons, Jim (Pam) Branhan of New Carlisle, John Branhan of Donnellsville, Mike (Marsha) Branhan of Arcanum, grandchildren, Alicia (Jamie) Calton of Boulder City, NV and Austin (Lois) Monroe of Cable, stepgrandchildren, Tristian Kelso, Mark, Jay, Sarah and Robby Branhan, J.T. Branhan, Natalie Branhan and Shane, Amber, Joey and Wayne Monroe, step great-grandchildren, Dillon, Gage and Oaka Calton and Electria and Abbey Monroe, brother, Roger Borders of Urbana, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Mildred Crain and Geneva Borders, and brothers, Ralph Borders, James Herschel Borders, Arthur Borders, Cecil Borders, Harold Borders and Paul Borders. Clarence was cremated and there will be no services. The family is being served by Walter and Smith Funeral Home, 642 S. Main St., Urbana, OH. Condolences may be expressed to www.walterfunerals.com.
