David Kay Roush

ROUSH, David "Kay" age 90 of Urbana passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 31, 2021. He was born August 13, 1931 to the late David R. and Ahlena (Copas) Roush in Urbana. In addition to his parents, Kay is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Mary Ann (DeWitt) Roush and his two brothers, Roger Roush and Jerry Dean Roush. He leaves behind his three daughters: Deborah (Mark) Eberly, Cynthia (Bart) Henry, and Tamara (Tim) Gough; grandchildren: Ross Eberly, Eric (Karen) Eberly, Lauren (Evan) Petty, Ellen (Jake) Theodor, Riley Gough, and Harrison Gough as well as great-grandchildren: Georgia, Bennett, and Henry. Kay graduated from Urbana High School before earning his degree attending Wittenberg University and Urbana University. He was employed by the City of Urbana, W.H. Marvin Company and retired from Champaign Telephone Company. Kay will be remembered for his dedication to Urbana sports. He played a large part in the Urbana Boosters Club, manning the clock at Urbana football games and organizing the fair gate Booster fund raiser for over 25 years. He was a longtime member of the Urbana Rotary Club serving as president in 1975. Kay's pride and joy were his grandchildren and he enjoyed attending their sporting events and activities. He will be sadly missed by those that knew him. The family would like to take this opportunity to share their gratitude to Marge Risner, a dear friend and caregiver to Kay for many years along with the very patient staff of Hearth and Home. A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Walter & Lewis Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. A private entombment will be held for the family at Oak Dale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Urbana Booster Club or Ohio's Hospice of Dayton.
