Dennis E. Young

Dennis E. Young, 63, of Urbana, died at his Urbana residence on Sunday, May 11, 2014. He was born on June 13, 1950 in Urbana, OH, the son of James and Anna (Stapleton) Young. Dennis graduated from Urbana High School in 1968 and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict. He worked at IH, beginning in January 1969. Dennis loved the outdoors and enjoyed running, walking, biking, fishing, hunting, snow skiing and playing corn hole. He always supported American Red Cross blood drives, donating over 25 gallons of blood. Survivors include his father, James, of Urbana; a son, Denton Young of Phoenix, AZ; a daughter, Mandi Barclay and husband Curtis of Blair, OK; 3 grandchildren, Caleb, Brooke and Silas; a brother, Richard Young and wife Jo of Urbana; and a sister, Vicki Sue Wingfield and husband Leon of Lakeland, FL. He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna. The family will receive friends from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2014 in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, where a service will be held at 4 p.m. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.walterfunerals.com.
