Donald H. "Deacon" Williamson

June 21, 1919 — February 26, 2014

Donald H. Deacon Williamson, 94, of Urbana, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 in Mercy Memorial Hospital, Urbana. He was born on June 21, 1919 in DeGraff, OH, the son of Hadley and Mary (Huber) Williamson. Donald graduated from Springfield High School and attended Pensacola College. He attended the Church of God of Prophecy. Donald retired as manager at Fulmer grocery store and previously worked at A & P Foods. After retirement, he was a CTS driver for many years. He enjoyed gardening and his fruit trees, refurnishing antiques, fishing, reading his Bible and collecting guns and coins and attending auctions. Survivors include daughters, Cheryl Boehm and husband Sam of Ada and Becky Williamson of Urbana; sons, Paul David Williamson of Phoenix, AZ, and Donald Hadley Williamson II of Saudi Arabia; grandchildren, Cari Hockman and husband Andy of Marysville and Chad Winebrenner of Perrysburg; great-grandchildren, Grace Hockman and Reid Hockman; sisters, Jeanette Taylor of Troy, Wanda Engle of Springfield and Ruth Johnson of Traverse City, MI; sister-in-law, Jan Williamson of Springfield; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Mary (Amlin) Williamson; siblings, James Williamson, Joanne Leeth, Ned Williamson and Dan Williamson; and brothers-in-law, Robert Taylor, James Engle, Dick Johnson and Robert Leeth. Family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, where a service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow in Kings Creek Cemetery.
