Doris "Dee" Lee Clifford

Doris Dee Lee Clifford, 83, of Urbana, formerly of Marysville, died Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Vancrest of Urbana. She was born February 14, 1930 in Madison County, the daughter of Walter and N. Virginia Lee. Dee was retired from OM Scotts Company after 34 years. She was co-owner of Dees Gems along with her husband. She worked at Walter & Smith Funeral Home as well as the Columbus Merchandise Mart. Dee was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Marysville for many years prior to her move to Urbana, then became a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. She enjoyed TWIG 13 and was chairperson for membership and the annual fundraiser that benefited Mercy Memorial Hospital and McAuley Center. Having a zest for life, Dee enjoyed sharing her positive attitude with all, including calling Bingo for residents of McAuley. Survivors include her daughter Sharon (Thomas) Teutsch of Omaha, NE, son John (Anne) Hahn of Urbana. Three step-daughters, Carol (Edward) Griffith, Nancy (Bill) Neely of Marysville, and Barbara (Joe) Mlcuch of Miami, FL, 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 6 step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of 40 years, James K. Clifford on March 13, 2002. Dee was a loving wife, mother and treasured her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by family and friends but leaves behind many wonderful memories. A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Messiah Lutheran Church with Pastor Tom Batterman and Pastor Linda Sprick-Kruse officiating.
