Dorothy Janet Dixon

Dorothy Janet Dixon, 82, of Urbana, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2016 in Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton.
She was born on March 17, 1934 in Urbana, OH, a daughter of Andrew H. and Savanna G. (Miller) Johnson. A 1952 graduate of Urbana High School, Dorothy was a homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her children and grandchildren. She had worked at W.B. Marvin’s and is said to have made the best apple pie ever. Dorothy was also a member of the homemakers club “Graham Gals” for nearly 50 years.
Survivors include daughters, Michele A. Dixon of Urbana, Diana L. (Dixon) Parker (Jerry) of Bellefontaine, Laura A. Dixon of Urbana, and Ellen Dixon of St. Paris; sons, Andrew R. Dixon of Millerstown, Dana L. Dixon of Urbana and Alan E. Dixon of Urbana; grandchildren, Casey Davis of Springfield, Thomas Warner (Katie Phillips) of Huber Heights, Timothy (Kim) Warner of Versailles, Faith Dixon Clifford of St. Paris; great-grandchildren, Odysse Davis, Sierra Davis, Troy Davis, and Ariel Warner, and a baby boy to arrive in March 2017; several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Johnson of Urbana and Eugene (Molly) Johnson of Georgia; and friends, Dale and Annalee Krebehenne of St. Paris and Bob and Dorothy Chamberlain of Urbana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilbur “Howard” Dixon; and brother, Jim Johnson.
Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 in the WALTER & STOWE FUNERAL HOME, Urbana. A graveside service will be held at 1:15 p.m. in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana, with Rev. Sherri Blackwell officiating.
