Elnora "Nonie" Garvey

Elnora E. “Nonie” (Hurd) Garvey, 82, of Urbana, died at 9:20 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 in Miami Valley Hospital. She was born January 1, 1931 in Urbana, the daughter of Wilbur G. and Elma (Cutler) Hurd. Elnora was a home health care aide for Mercy Memorial Home Health Care for 10 years. She was a member of Urbana Friends Church and enjoyed crafts, photography, flowers and animals. Survivors include daughters, Patricia Medley of Urbana and Linda Monroe of Urbana, sons, Jeff Borders of Urbana, David Garvey of Phoenix, AZ and Mark Garvey of Urbana, grandchildren, Alicia (Jamie) Calton of Boulder City, NV, Austin (Lois) Monroe of Cable, Suzanna Garvey of Fairborn, Levy Garvey of Urbana, Zachary Garvey of Urbana and Emma Garvey of Phoenix, AZ, great-grandchildren, Tristian Kelso, Electria and Abbey Monroe of Cable, and Dillon, Gage and Oaka Calton of Boulder City, NV, and special friends, Roger Gaver and Barb Bodey. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Wilma Gaver. Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2013 in WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 642 S. Main St., Urbana, where a service will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2013. Burial will follow in Honey Creek Cemetery, Christiansburg.
