Esther L. Coleman

Esther L. Coleman, 89, of Urbana, passed to be with her Lord Friday morning, March 15, 2013 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born on September 24, 1923 in Champaign County, the daughter of Augustus and Bessie (Cochran) Watson. Esther enjoyed crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, fishing, dancing and mushroom hunting. In addition to being a caregiver, she helped her husband who owned Bob’s Marathon on Miami Street. Survivors include sons; Robert D. (Brenda) Coleman of Sebring, FL and Larry W. (Janet) Coleman of Alabama; daughter, Sandra Coleman Seward of Urbana; 7 grandchildren Dana Beckner, Chad Engle, Aftan Dotson, Pam Phillips, Karey Coleman, Todd Coleman, Craig Coleman; 8 great-grandchildren LaKeshia, Bernard, Lilly, Krystal, Racheal, Dustin, Trey, Shayla and 8 great-great-grandchildren, Belia, Sammy, Aalyhia, Clayton, Kobey, Gabin, Mya and A.J. Esther was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 64 years, Robert W. ‘Bob” Coleman on April 11, 2004; sisters Mabel Lucille McCarty, Mildred Aultman, Betty Millington Couch and Virginia Weatherhead and a brother, Robert “Bob” Watson. Family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2013 in WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 642 S. Main St., Urbana, where a service will be held at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Brian Wonn officiating. Burial will follow in Kings Creek Cemetery. Contributions in Esther’s memory may be made to Barely Used Pets, 467 N. Dugan Road, Urbana, Ohio 43078.
