Eva J. Kerns

Eva J. Kerns, 77, of Urbana, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 13, 2013 in Mercy Memorial Hospital, Urbana. She was born in Urbana on July 4, 1935, the daughter of Emery and Helen (Myers) Zerkle. Eva graduated from Urbana High School in 1953, retired from Honeywell and loved to shop and read. Survivors include a daughter, Vivian Daulton of Urbana, three grandchildren, Ricky Daulton of Memphis, Kayleigh Kearns of Urbana and Elyssa Kearns of Urbana, two great-grandchildren, Devin Daulton of Memphis and Amari Kearns of Urbana, and brother, Gary (Susan) Zerkle of Cary, N.C. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Edward “Eddie” Kearns, and daughter, Vicki Kearns. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2013 in Oak Dale Cemetery with Rev. Carl Vactor officiating. The family is being served by the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Urbana.
