Genevieve Millner, 94, of Urbana, died at 7:43 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013 in Mercy Memorial Hospital, Urbana. She was born on June 17, 1918 in Champaign County, Ohio, the daughter of Roy and Marie (Breedlove) Robinson. Genevieve was a graduate of Urbana High School in 1935 and Moore’s Business College. Genevieve began her career working for attorney Vance Brand, then continued at Brand Neer Insurance Co. She and her husband Charles, whom she married June 14, 1939, owned and operated Millner’s Cafeteria. She was the bookkeeper, but was best known for her sticky rolls and pineapple cake. She also shared with Charles a passion for antique cars. Genevieve was a member of Urbana United Methodist Church, Urbana Chapter, No. 530 O.E.S. and Delta Theta Tau Sorority. Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia Spellman and her husband Hugh of Urbana and Marsha Allen and her husband Phil of Urbana, a son, David Millner of Urbana, two grandchildren, Stacy Owens and her husband Dr. Rich of Jacksonville, OR, and Ali Millner of Urbana, and one great-grandson, Richie Owens. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of 57 years, Charles on March 6, 1996. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 642 S. Main St., Urbana. A graveside service in Oak Dale Cemetery will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 with Pastor Jim Lilllibridge officiating.
