Gloria Lynn Davis

Gloria Lynn Davis, age 77 of St. Paris, Ohio passed away on October 9, 2022 in Urbana, Ohio. She was born on December 11, 1944 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Alan and Mildred (Aichholz) Bartels. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Lora Lynn Davis, and siblings, Lois, Richard, Earl, Mildred, Gene, and James. Gloria is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Doug Davis, daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Andrew Hoppe, brothers-in-law: Bruce and Dan Davis, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gloria loved to learn. She spent a year at Warren Wilson College before transferring to The Ohio State University where she received her Bachelor’s and later her Master’s degrees in Physical Therapy. In her free time, Gloria enjoyed traveling, having traveled to all 50 states. She also enjoyed visiting the National Parks and spent time in Italy. She was artistic and loved to paint. Gloria also loved kids, especially the ones she worked with at Lawnview School. She was a Girl Scout Leader and Naturalist. She loved nature, bird watching, and she was very passionate about gardening. Family and church were an important part of her life.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 a.m., at the Walter and Lewis Funeral Home, Urbana, The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Ray Branstiter. Gloria will be laid to rest at Spring Grove Cemetery, St. Paris. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or The Nature Conservancy in Gloria’s honor.
