Hager Wilton May

February 22, 1926 — June 11, 2016

Hager Wilton May, age 90, passed away in his home on Saturday, June 11, 2016. He was born on February 22, 1926 in Paintsville, Kentucky to the late Hamilton and Rhuie (Williams) May. He worked as a contractor doing mostly plaster work for 20 years, and retired from (Grimes) Fl Aerospace.
Hager was married for 69 years to Betty J. May, who passed away on March 11, 2014. He later married Shirley (Carman) May in April 2016.
Along with his parents and wife, Betty, Hager was preceded in death by a brother, Henry May; two sisters, Alemedia Blair of KY, and Barbara Ratliff of Carey, OH son-in-law, Bob Cohn, and a sister-in-law, Sue McLaughlin.
Hager leaves behind three daughters, Lois (Ron) Horsley of Urbana, Fran Cohn of Urbana, and Judy (Keith) Barger of Urbana; his wife, Shirley and her extended family; a brother, Gene (Carolyn) May from Paintsville, KY; sisters, Martha (Raymond) Blair, Rosie (Ottie) Blevins, Carolyn (Charlie) Blair, all of Paintsville, KY, and Peggy Baldwin of West Liberty; grandchildren, Todd (Maria) Horsley of Urbana, Chad (Colleen) Cohn of Urbana, Matthew (Julie) Grimes of St. Paris, Christopher (Rikki) Grimes of Springfield, Emily Jordan of Urbana; great-grandchildren, Blake and Ty Horsley, Mackenzie and Seth Jordan, Hailey, Katelyn, Cara, and Brody Cohn, Cole and Chandler Grimes, and Tanner, Adri and William Grimes; brothers-in-law, Bob (Irene) LeMaster, Chuck (Sue) McLaughlin, Bobby (Janet) Jones, Jess (Claudia) Blair, and Sam (Judy) Blair, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Hager was a faithful member of the Faith Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church of Urbana. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. Hager never met a stranger! He is now rejoicing in Heaven.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 in the WALTER & STOWE FUNERAL HOME (642 S. Main St. Urbana, OH). A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 in the Faith Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church (236 Bloomfield Ave. Urbana, OH) with Pastor Floyd Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Clifton Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Hager's honor to the Faith Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church, Urbana.
