Jean Ross

Jean Ross, 85, of Urbana, died at 4:40 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at OSU Medical Center, Columbus. She was born in Urbana on August 14, 1927, the daughter of Clarence and Lucille (Allan) Williams. Jean was an Urbana High School graduate and retired as a receptionist from Howard Paper. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Moose Lodge and Urbana Chapter, No. 530 O.E.S. and enjoyed bowling, the Buckeyes and all sports. Survivors include daughters, Pam Moore and husband Steve of Urbana, Peggy Wilson of Urbana, and Patti Spangler and husband Scott of Urbana, six grandsons, Shawn (Rebecca) Moore, Brenden (Laura) Moore, Brad (Mandi) Wilson, Danny (Sheree) Wilson, Travis Spangler and Tyler Spangler, and nine great-grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Dean Ross on September 12, 1998. Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, February 22, 2013 in WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 642 S. Main St., Urbana, with Order of the Eastern Star Services to be held at 8 p.m. A service will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2013, with Rev. Steve Brown officiating. Entombment will follow at Oak Dale Mausoleum. Six grandsons will serve as casket bearers.
