John E. Yohn

John E. Yohn, 88, of Urbana, died on Thursday, April 9, 2015 in Vancrest of Urbana. He was born on October 26, 1926, in West Liberty, OH, the son of Sam and Martha (Stricker) Yohn. John served in the United States Army during WWII and retired from American Aggregates in 1986. Survivors include his wife, Mary (Hankey) Yohn; children, John S. (Sharon) Yohn of Marysville, Dorothy (Rick) Markin of Urbana, Gail (Mike) Comer of Urbana, Rose Yohn (Bill Titus) of Urbana, Emma Jane Turner of Springfield, Bruce (Elizabeth) Yohn of Urbana and Karen Preston (Jim Leedy) of Urbana; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Marylan Brown; and 7 sisters and 1 brother. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 13, 2015 in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, where a memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, Miami Valley Chapter, 31 W.
