John Paul Rogan

John P. Rogan, 85, of Sidney, passed away on March 22, 2016 in Mercy Memorial Hospital, Urbana. He was born on August 20, 1930 in Bellefontaine, OH, a son of Lonnie and Bertha (Artis) Rogan. John served in the U.S. Army, was a retired truck driver and handyman of all sorts. He attended River of Life Christian Center in Urbana and loved landscaping and the Indianapolis Colts. John is survived by his significant other, Jeanna Azbell. He was previously married to Jean Cane of Bellefontaine from 1951-1996 and their surviving children include: Betty Rodgers of Cable, Daniel Rogan of Bellefontaine, Belinda Rogan of Bellefontaine, Beatrice Rogan of Bellefontaine, and Virgil Breneman of Urbana. Additional survivors include, grandchildren, Chasity, Shannon, Andrea, John, Thomas, Lynette, Tyrell, Frank, Syrita, Lynelle, Martin, Mindy, Paul, Dashea, Destiny, Jevon and Skylar; numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Rudolph Rogan of Bellefontaine, Martha Rogan of Columbus, Charlotte Sinclair of Cable, Willard (Stella) Rogan of Cable, Iva Harris of Urbana, Louis Rogan of Columbus, Nancy (Ron) Evans of Springfield and Marva Rogan of Cable; a sister-in-law, Donna Rogan; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Perry and Howard Rogan; and 2 sons, Steven and Jonathan Rogan. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2016 in the WALTER & STOWE FUNERAL HOME, Urbana. Visitation will then be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2016 in the River of Life Christian Center, 775 Washington Ave., Urbana, where a service will be held at 12 p.m. with Pastor Dan Leiker officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana. Memorial contributions may be made in Johns memory to the River of Life Christian Center.
