Judith "Judy" Jane King

Judith Judy Jane King, 76, of Urbana, died on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 in her residence. She was born August 6, 1939 in Champaign County, OH, a daughter of Billy and Betty (Gaver) Birt. Judy was a 1957 graduate of Concord High School and a lifetime member of Concord United Methodist Church. She was a cook for Graham elementary and high schools for over 10 years and also worked at Grimes. Judy was a very generous and loving woman, sweet and easy-going, had a good sense of humor and never knew a stranger. Survivors include her husband, Wes King, who she married in 2000; daughter, Tamara Barnes of South Carolina; stepchildren, Timothy (Niki) King of Westerville, Cathy King (Cindy Jackson) of New Bern, NC, Scott (Noelle) King of North Lewisburg and Krista King of New Bern, NC; step-grandchildren, Shaina, Jeremy, Bobby, Ryan and Peyton; and a brother, Bill Birt of Urbana. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Lynn Blankenship; mother-in-law, Cleta King; and father-in-law, Floyd King. Family will receive friends from 1-4 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2015 in the WALTER & STOWE FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, where a service will be held at 4 p.m. with Pastor Wayne Engle officiating.
