Larry A. Grim

Larry A. Grim, Sr., 64, of Urbana, died at 10:45 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 in Springfield Regional Medical Center, Springfield. He was born on March 28, 1949 in Champaign County, the son of Frank and Alice (Nichols) Grim, Sr. Along with his father, he owned and operated Urbana Steel Drum for 30 years. Larry was a member of Grace Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and being outdoors. Survivors include his wife, Norma (Holbrook), who he married on January 16, 1970; son, Larry A. Grim, Jr. of Urbana; grandson, Broedy Grim of Urbana; sister, Roseann Hughes of Springfield; brothers, David of Urbana, Rick of Springfield, and Steve of Urbana. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Frank Grim, Jr., Wayne Grim and Gary Grim. Family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013 in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 642 S. Main St., Urbana, where a memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. with Pastor Aaron Samples officiating.
