Lewis E. Brown

Lewis E. Brown, 71, of Urbana, passed away Friday, February 17, 2017 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born on April 17, 1945, in Urbana, the son of the late Myron and Evelyn (Lewis) Brown. Lewis is survived by his children, Jennifer Lee (Wendel) Laubach, Ryan Lewis Brown and Aaron Mathew (Shaunda) Brown; grandchildren, Cameron Brown and Rylee and Kinley Brown; 2 step-grandchildren; brother, Ronald Dean (Debbie) Brown; sisters, Irene (Larry) Peace and Myra (Jim) Oliver; lifelong friends, Ralph Vermillion, Roger Zigler and Steve Joliff; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judith Lee (Pence) Brown; and sister, Margaret Runkle. Lewis was a proud Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He was a mason at the Harmony Lodge #8 and enjoyed riding motorcycles, bird watching and woodworking. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 5:00p.m.-6:45p.m. at Walter & Stowe Funeral Home, with masonic services beginning at 6:45. Funeral service will begin at 7:00p.m. with Pastor David Brown officiating. Military honors will conclude services.
