Mary Helen Pinky (Edgington) Donahoe, 91, of Columbus, formerly of Urbana, died Thursday, December 4, 2014 in Emeritus of Chestnut Hill, Columbus. She was born January 6, 1923 in Springfield, OH, the daughter of Jesse Leroy and Mary (Hartnett) Edgington. Mary graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1944. On November 20, 1954 she married Kenneth P. Donahoe of Urbana. He preceded her in death on October 20, 1991. Prior to her marriage she was employed by Foster-Hallenean Insurance Agency. Later she was employed by Dye & Doss Insurance in Urbana. In June 1993 she retired after serving 15 years as warehouse secretary at Drackett, SC Johnson Co. in Urbana where she made many special, long-time friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her son Kenneth E. Donahoe, and her brothers, Leroy Edward Edgington and William R. Edgington. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Urbana and of the Ladies Sodality of the church. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Cathy J. Donahoe Campbell (DeWayne) of Springfield; 2 daughters, Mary Ellen Evans and husband Dennis of Blacklick and Catherine Donahoe (Bruce Royer) of Columbus; 2 granddaughters, Bethany Lynn (Jordan) Guhl of Gahanna and Holly Michelle (Bryan) Levin of Boise, ID; a grandson, Troy Paul Donahoe; and the Royer children, Tyler, Ronni and Karli. Family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, December 8, 2014 in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, where parish prayers will be held at 2 p.m. Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 in St. Mary Catholic Church, 231 Washington Ave., Urbana, with Father Larry Gearhart celebrant. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery. The family would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff and special caregivers at Emeritus/Brookdale at Chestnut Hill and Acclaim Hospice.
