Michael Black

Michael Black, 70, of North Lewisburg, passed away August 29, 2017 peacefully surrounded by his family.
Mike was born in Columbus, OH on July 12, 1947, only child to Walter and Hazel Black. He graduated from Urbana High School in 1965 and went on to attend Ohio State and serve in the National Guard.
Mike was married to Donna Brewer on May 20, 1989 and they were married 28 years.
He worked as a Chemical Engineer in Environmental Heath and Safety at Dracket, Capital Resin, and most recently Scott’s in Marysville. He enjoyed everything Ohio State Buckeyes, doing setups at the Dairy Queen, golfing, mowing, playing the piano, sitting on his deck, and spending time with his friends and family.
Mike is survived by his wife Donna; his children, Kent Black (Christal) and Kim Campbell, all of Urbana, and George Savani (Sandy) and Michael Savani (Dori), all of Maryland; and grandchildren Camden, Macie, Carson, Nicholas, Rachel, John, Christopher, Paige and Will.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 in the WALTER & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME, Urbana where a service will be held at 12 p.m. with Pastor Steve Schumm officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery in Urbana.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in Michael Black’s name to OSU James Cancer Hospital, 460 W. 10th Ave., Columbus OH 43210.
