Regina Mae (Ferst) Ervin, age 67, of Urbana, went Home on Friday, January 29, 2015 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. Regina was born on October 29, 1948 in Urbana, Ohio to the late Clarence E. and Anna Rae (Courter) Ferst. Regina was a long-time member of Faith Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church, and most recently worked at the Urbana YMCA Daycare; she absolutely loved those children. She also had a passion for NASCAR and enjoyed fishing, but most of all, she loved her family. Survivors include two daughters, Holly (Jody) Ross and Heather (Dennis) Newman, of Urbana; four grandchildren, Josh Newman of Cincinnati, Hanna Newman of Urbana, Shane (Angel) McNutt of Urbana, and Destiny Ross of Urbana; two great-grandchildren, Liam and Jace McNutt of Urbana; two sisters, Tammie (Norman) Thomas and Joanna Hampton of Urbana; two nephews, Jimmy and Todd Waldren; two sisters-in-law, Jeanette (Charlie) Thornburg of Urbana, and Margi Shaffner of Springfield. Along with her parents, Regina was preceded in death by her husband, whom she married on July 2, 1966, Paul R. Rick Ervin in 2008; a grandson, Timothy Justin T.J. Stacy; as well as a nephew, Jonathon Hampton. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 from 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. in Faith Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church (236 Bloomfield Ave., Urbana) with a funeral service to begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Roger Childers officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Walter & Stowe Funeral Home to assist the family with burial expenses.
