Ronald Eugene Tomblin

Ronald Eugene Tomblin, of Urbana, passed away on November 29, 2018 surrounded by his wife and family.
Ron was born on May 7, 1947 to Chester and Icie (Frost) Tomblin. He married his wife, Sharon Kay (Anderson) Tomblin, on November 25, 1972 with whom he celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary on Sunday by being with their family.
Ron was loved as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother. He loved spending time watching his grandchildren in their activities and accomplishing their goals. If you couldn’t find Ron and his wife out walking around town, you would see Ron just sitting outside enjoying the company of family and friends. Ronald loved to collect frogs, watch westerns and loved to watch Ohio State football, while teasing his grandson when it came to the rival game with MI and secretly wishing for Notre Dame to win though he would seldom admit it to his daughter.
Throughout his life, Ronald worked many years at Chi-Vit, then Corn nuts and W.B. Marvin. He since retired allowing him and his wife to spend time nagging each other but mostly enjoying life together.
Ron is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughters, Michell (Walter) Beattie of MI and Rhonda Tomblin of Urbana; grandchildren, Courtney (Jordyn) Mefford, Renae (Jacob) Mefford, Ronald C. Beattie and Jack Mefford; siblings, Shirley Slusser, Douglas (Mary) Tomblin, Deborah (Bill) LeFever and Jeff Tomblin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Icie Tomblin; brothers, Ernie Tomblin, Burch Tomblin, Richard Tomblin, Chet (Ruth) Tomblin and Mike Tomblin; and sisters, June (Glenn) Huber and Jean (Larry) Hackney.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 in the WALTER & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, where a service will be held at 12 p.m. with Pastor Tony Peña officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks those interested to make a donation to the charity of their choice in Ron’s remembrance.
