Sheryl Lynn Haggard

November 9, 1946 — December 4, 2018

Sheryl Lynn Haggard, age 72, of Urbana, left this life on Tuesday, December 4, 2018. Her contagious smile and bubbly personality will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Sheryl was born on November 9, 1946 to Willard and Martha (McConnaughey) Reese of Springfield, OH. She was a 1964 graduate of Springfield Shawnee High School and a 1964 graduate of Frederick Beauty Academy, having attended classes at night school and during summer vacations throughout her high school years. She was also a 1969 graduate of Clark State Community College with an Associate Degree in business.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Mark; daughter, Olivia (James) Lantz of Frazeysburg, OH; son Stefan (Sarah) Haggard of Urbana; son Randy (Jennifer) Haggard of Springfield; granddaughter Sophia Lantz; grandson Jonathan Lantz; sister Joy (Bob) Winegarner of Oakley, CA; brother Rodney (Janet) Reese of Columbus, OH; mother-in-law Jean Haggard of Urbana; in-laws Eric and Tamara Jones of Xenia, OH and Bret and Cheryl Haggard of Tuscon, AZ; special friend Maureen Case of London, OH; 17 nieces and nephews; and 20 grand-nieces and nephews.
Those who knew Sheryl would find it difficult to imagine her without a smile. She loved life and people with all of her heart. Hairdressing was a made-to-order vocation. She loved making her clients and friends feel the very best about themselves. Working for a Christian ministry for 22 years, Sheryl researched, developed and taught a seminar on self-confidence, self-image and personal appearance from a Biblical perspective. For 18 years, the class blessed and inspired thousands of theology students.
Sheryl would cry with joy over the most trivial of gifts and tearfully delight when seeing others blessed. Her heart was truly tender. She dearly loved and treasured her family and her absence will be felt by all.
Graveside services will be conducted at the convenience of her family.
A special thanks to Universal Home Health and Hospice Care and the wonderful nurses and aides who so tenderly cared for Sheryl for the last nine months.
A special thanks also to Walter & Lewis Funeral and Cremation Services for providing such detailed, personal and stress-free final arrangements.
