Willard Owen Conover

Willard Owen Conover, 80, of Urbana, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 in the Mercy Health-Urbana Hospital, Urbana.
He was born on July 3, 1938 in Springfield, OH, a son of Willard Edgar and Ethel (Rowand) Conover.
Owen retired from Robbins & Myers, Inc. after 42 years. He coached tennis at Clark State Community College and taught tennis privately for several years. Owen actively participated in the Dr. Dredge Tennis Program at Snyder Park in Springfield, was the Davis Cup coach and was also involved in the Western USTA Tennis Tournament at Wittenberg University.
Survivors include his wife, Linda (Russell) Conover; daughters, Laura Watkins and Lisa (Mark) Vicory and their mother, Rosemary Conover; 5 grandchildren, Alyssa Watkins, Rebecca Watkins, Zachary Watkins, Benjamin Vicory and Leah Vicory; niece, Pam (Paul) Lewis; nephew, Brent Conover; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Conover.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald Edgar Conover.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 in the WALTER & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, where a service will be held at 1 p.m. with Deacon John Collins officiating.
