Anna May Schultz (nee Wittig) passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at the age of 96 with her daughters by her side. Anna was born on November 13, 1928 in Buffalo, New York. After moving to Cleveland Hts. then to Chagrin Falls she met her husband Harold who preceded her in death after 72 years of marriage. They lived in Mentor, Ohio for 66 years before moving to Urbana, Ohio in 2018. She and Harold are charter members of Advent Lutheran Church in Mentor where she taught kindergarten. They were foster parents for 20 years. Anna and her family tent camped across the USA exploring most of the lower 48 states. She and Harold became cruisers visiting far off locations including Australia, Tahiti, and their favorite, Hawaii. She also enjoyed quilting, cross stitch, knitting, reading, and square dancing with the Buckeye Squares. Later in life, she enjoyed going on outings, doing jigsaw puzzles, and sitting on the patio talking to her friends at Urbana Place.
Anna will be deeply missed by her daughters, Patricia Hrusch and Carol (Joe) Soltesz. She was a grandma to Michael (Katie) Hrusch, Diane (Jason) Deitrick, Bryan (Kelsey) Hrusch, and Paul (Angie) Soltesz. Great-grandma, nana, to Kiley, Nathan, Elliott, John, and Tommy.
A memorial service to celebrate both Anna and her husband Harold will be held at Advent Lutheran in Mentor, Ohio on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 1:00 PM. Graveside service to follow at Mentor Cemetery with reception afterwards. Donations may be made in her memory to Day City Hospice, 7601 Paragon Road, Suite 203, Dayton, Ohio, 45459.
