Caryl V. Boldman, age 97 of Urbana, went home to be with the Lord April 17, 2026. He was born July 2, 1928 in Adams County, Ohio, the son of the late Roscoe and Freida (Ames) Boldman. Caryl is survived by his children, Carolyn (Jack), Beverly, and Anna (Keith McCulla); daughter-in-law, Shelly, grandchildren; Bryce, Holly (Micah), Josh (Kathleen), Monika, Jade (Liza), Chad (Kristina), April (Zack), Heather (Bill), Sean (Whitney), and Andrew (Victoria), great-grandchildren; Maddie, Greta, Pierce, Ava, Dylan (Alyssa), Shane, Hailey (Nathan), Arianna, Logan, Gavyn, Olivia (Duane), Gabriel, Grace, Eleanor, Jude, Oliver, Ralph, Jaxon, Addison, Madison, Braelynn, Luca, and Kasem, and great-great-grandchildren; Everett, Kiser, and Posie. Along with his parents, Caryl was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, Clara (Markin) Boldman, children, David, Danny, Sharon, and Diana, grandsons, Aaron and Andrew, and siblings; Ralph, Art, Bob, Don, Alvie, Phyllis, and Cloa.

Caryl lived a life rooted in the values of friendship, family, and a love for the simple pleasures of the outdoors. For 33 years, Caryl dedicated himself to his work as a press worker at International Harvester until his retirement. A true country man at heart, he found great joy in fishing, camping, and hunting for turtles and mushrooms. His hobbies extended to enjoying garage sales and passionately following the Cincinnati Reds. Caryl was known for his warm nature and welcoming spirit—he didn’t know a stranger and created a broad circle of friends throughout his lifetime. Above all else, Caryl's greatest loves were his family, and his dear wife, Clara.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 from 12:00-2:00 PM at the Walter and Lewis Funeral Home, Urbana. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM, officiated by John Nolte. Caryl will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife at Grandview Cemetery immediately following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Guests are kindly invited to wear casual attire or your favorite Cincinnati Reds outfit to reflect the genuine and easygoing nature of Caryl.
