It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Cathy Sue Henry, age 74 of Urbana, Ohio. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother. Cathy passed away on June 15th 2026 leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Cathy was the heart of her family. As a wife, she shared a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished outings with her husband of 53 years. Whether it was a simple drive together, a shared meal, or time spent exploring new places, she found joy in their companionship and built a lifetime of treasured memories by his side.
As a mother, she was a constant source of strength, guidance, and unconditional love. She devoted herself fully to her daughters, always placing their needs above her own and offering comfort, encouragement, and wisdom through every stage of their life.
Her greatest joy, however, came in being a grandmother. Her grandchildren were truly the light of her life. She delighted in every moment spent with them—playing, listening, sharing stories, and surrounding them with the same boundless love she gave so freely to everyone around her. To them, she was not just a grandmother, but a safe place, a cheerleader, and a source of endless affection.
Cathy will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her selfless heart, and the love she poured into her family. Her presence made every home feel warmer, every gathering more special, and every memory more meaningful.
She is survived by her husband, Mike Henry, her daughters; Jamie Henry and Melisa (Michael) Bradford, and her beloved grandchildren; Haylie Johnson, Fredrick Bradford, and Michael Midgley, siblings; Nancy Skaggs, James (Jimbo) Johnson, sisters-in-law, Carol Johnson and Cindy Johnson, brother-in-law, Phillip Henry and sister-in-law, Donna Chess, numerous nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
Though she is no longer physically with us, her love remains woven into the lives of all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the family she adored and the countless memories she created.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Betty Johnson, mother and father-in-law, Alice and Donald Henry, siblings, Larry Johnson Sr., Johnny Johnson, Tommy Johnson, Sandy “Sandbag” (Tim “Ferdie”) Cline, brother-in-law, Williams Skaggs, and sister-in-law, Marjorie Johnson.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, June 19, 2026 from 10:00-12:00 PM at the Walter and Lewis Funeral Home, Urbana. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Brian Coleman. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by visiting www.walterfunerals.com.
