Charles Smith

Charles Sherman Smith, 84, of Urbana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 surrounded by his family. He was born on January 8, 1936, in Franklin County, Ohio, the son of the late Sherman E. and Jannie B. (Recob) Smith.

Charles ran Smith Construction for 40 years and was a member of the Harmony Lodge # 8 in Urbana.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 65 years, Deloris (Davis) Smith; son, Mark Smith; daughter, Robin (Smith) Laird; brother, David Smith; sisters-in-law, Wilma (David) Hiss, Glenda Smith and Romayne Sanders; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Bryan “Bo” Smith; and siblings, Bernard Smith, Michael Smith and Judith Jordan.

Family will receive friends from 11a.m.-1p.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Walter & Lewis Funeral Home with service beginning at 1p.m. with Pastor Gary Raymond officiating. Burial will follow at Jenkins Chapel Cemetery in Cable, Ohio.
