Charlotte Elaine "Mitzi" Porter

Charlotte Elaine “Mitzi” Porter, 78, of Urbana, passed away, Monday, November 17, 2025. She was born September 10, 1947, in Toledo, Ohio a daughter of Dorothy Louise (Carmichael) and James Reeves.

Mitzi was devoted to her faith and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She earned her BA in Education at Urbana College, was a Head Start teacher, and also taught at the Johnny Appleseed Montessori Center in Urbana, worked at CRSI and was also a Pilot. She was a collector of dolls, and enjoyed walking, reading and had an interest in writing children’s books. Her favorite snacks were popcorn and chocolate chip cookies. She enjoyed cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs.

She is survived by her sons, Mike (Pam) Reeves and Christopher (Becky) Reeves; brothers, James Reeves, Jr. and Joseph Reeves; grandchildren, Latasha McNeely, Aaron (Taylor) Reeves, Camille Reeves and Nicole McNeely, 13 great grandchildren and many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 34 years, Walter Douglas Porter and her parents, Dorothy and James Reeves.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00AM Thursday, December 4, 2025, in St. Mary Catholic Church, 228 Washington Ave., Urbana, OH. Services are in the care of Walter & Lewis Funeral Home, Urbana, OH. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.walterfunerals.com.
