Connie Jean Lewis-Phibbs, affectionately known as "Cat," passed away unexpectedly on October 17, 2025, in Springfield, Ohio. Born on August 29, 1986, in Little Rock, Arkansas, Connie brought joy and warmth to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A dedicated "domestic engineer," Connie took great pride in maintaining a beautiful home, and her culinary talents were unmatched. Loved ones will always remember her for her delightful cooking, which she shared generously with family and friends. Connie’s spirit was characterized by her kind-hearted nature, intelligence, and beauty. She was a true girly girl whose passion for life shone brightly through her witty sense of humor and her ability to uplift others, making them smile and laugh.
Connie's personality was defined by her nurturing qualities; she was a natural giver and fixer, embodying compassion reminiscent of her father. She held no hatred in her heart and was always forgiving and non-judgmental. Her love for animals and children showcased her gentle soul, and she made lasting connections with those around her.
Her enduring love story began with her high school sweetheart, Zachary Phibbs, with whom she shared the joys of marriage for 14 wonderful years. and their cherished sons, Ian Michael Lewis and Ryan Levaughn Phibbs. Her mother, Christine Lewis, along with her siblings, Guy (Nichole) Lewis, Crystal Lewis, and sister-in-law Mandy Crum, and brother-in-law Gregory Alspaugh, also mourn her loss. She was deeply loved by her maternal grandmother, Carolyn Hess, and leaves behind her father-in-law, Kevin Phibbs, and mother-in-law, Keitha Watson. Connie cherished her role as an aunt to many, including Logan Alspaugh, Trinity Alspaugh, Braden Walsh, Camden Lewis, Hunter Johns, and Autumn Plunkett, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her father, Phillip Lewis, and her maternal grandfather, Raliegh "Rusty" Saighman. Though she is no longer with us, Connie's legacy of kindness, laughter, and unconditional love will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
