Eileen Christine Bidwell

Eileen Christine Bidwell, 76, of Urbana, passed away October 24, 2025, at Oakwood Village in Springfield, OH. She was born November 25, 1948, in Piqua, OH, a daughter of Howard Earl and Vesta Mae (Neer) Mattox.

Eileen was affectionately known as Chris and was raised in Urbana. She was a class of 1969 graduate of Triad High School in North Lewisburg, OH and enjoyed attending their alumni events and class reunions. She married the love of her life, Ronald Bidwell on July 18, 1971, at the Urbana Church of God and enjoyed many years of loving kindness worshiping with many church members of God, angels and Jesus. She loved the Bible and her favorite scriptures were Psalms 23 and John 3:16. Her favorite hymn was “Love Lifted Me”. Pastor David Gamella is the church Pastor.

Eileen had a special place in her heart for pet cats and dogs and enjoyed sitting on the front porch swing watching deer in their yard and neighborhood.

She and her husband Ronald took many trips with her parents to visit her family, sister, Peg and her husband Ed Watkins in Ridgecrest, CA; brother, Jerry Mattox and his wife Cathy and sisters, Linda and her husband Willard Funk and Marsha and her husband Richard Sandrowicz all of Jacksonville, FL.

Eileen is survived by her husband, Ronald Bidwell, a loving, caring brothers, Daniel Mattox, of Urbana and Ralph (Chisato) Mattox of Japan and sisters, Peg Watkins of Ridgecrest, CA and Marsha (Richard) Sandrowicz of Jacksonville, FL and many dearly beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, several aunts, uncles and three brothers, David, Paul and Jerry Mattox; sister, Linda (Mattox) Funk; sister-in-law, Cindy (Levernier) Mattox and brother-in-law, Richard Hoy.

A gathering of family and friends will be on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 12:00 noon in the Walter & Lewis Funeral Home, 642 S. Main Street, Urbana, OH with funeral services at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Kingscreek Cemetery.
