Elijah "Eli" Samuel Hall

April 24, 1994 — May 13, 2025

Urbana

Elijah "Eli" Samuel Hall, a vibrant soul who touched the hearts of many, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the age of 31. Born on April 24, 1994, the son of Michael Hall and Shannon Fry Hall, Eli was a light in the lives of everyone who knew him.

Eli is survived by his loving mother and step-father, Shannon Fry Hall and Brian Poe who have been by his side every step of his journey. He is also survived by his loving siblings, Elizabeth (Jon) Shirk and their children; Silas and Mila, Natalie (Nick) Tully and their daughter, Salwa, Benjamin (Kristen) Hall and their children, Colton, Griffin, and Benson, and Cassey (Aaron Buskirk) Poe,  grandparents, Paul and Gloria Fry and Walter and Carolyn Poe, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Eli was preceded in death by his father, Michael Hall, paternal grandparents, Richard and Claudia Hall, and cousin, Natasha Fry.

Eli exemplified resilience and joy, never letting anything dim his light. He was a proud graduate of Graham High School, class of 2013. Eli had bossy charm about him- he was often found pointing at people and directing them to do things. A constant companion to Eli was his beloved Kindle tablet which he was seldom seen without, typically playing his favorite shows, Barney and Elmo. He loved indulging in life’s small pleasures, particularly when it came to food. Pasta was his ultimate favorite, alongside memorable outings to Olive Garden and an unwavering love for parmesan cheese. Eli's interests extended beyond the dinner table, including being an avid fan of Dayton Dragons baseball and NASCAR. He found pure bliss lying at the edge of the ocean water, letting the waves gently crash over him.

While life may have presented Eli with obstacles, he faced each one with remarkable grace. Eli fought the good fight, finished his race, and is now met with a Heaven that has no wheelchairs, no challenges, and the smiling faces of those that have gone before him.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the CRSI caregivers that showered Eli with their love and respect, and any and all school staff, medical professionals, and caregivers that had their paths cross with Eli over the years- your time spent with him helped him to excel and make him who he was.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM at the Walter and Lewis Funeral Home, Urbana. A service to celebrate Eli’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 10:00 AM, also at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Mark Hackworth. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Everybody Plays Inclusion Playground Project in Eli’s honor.
