Frances Larue Russell

Frances LaRue Russell, 85, of Urbana, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 in Mercy McAuley Center, Urbana.
She was born on October 31, 1931 in Columbus, OH, a daughter of Corbin and Maude (Blevins) McDowell. Frances was a homemaker and loved animals of all sizes and types. She often would take in injured animals and rescues and nurse them back to health.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda (Owen) Conover; grandchildren, Cody Russell and Erin (Lucas) McKeever; great-grandchild, Cyrus McKeever; and a half-brother, Jesse McDowell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Emerson Russell in 1997; and a son, Glen Russell in 2010.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Monday, October 2, 2017 in the WALTER & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME, Urbana. A graveside service will follow at Concord Cemetery with Pastor Kevin Moehn officiating.
