Henry Morris "Mort" Pence

Henry Morris Pence, affectionately known as Mort, age 87, of Springfield passed away in his residence on February 28, 2026. He was born, March 18, 1938, in Urbana, Ohio, and he was the son of Donald and Dorothy (Knotts) Pence.

Mort honorably served his country in the US Navy Reserves, was a member of the Northridge United Methodist Church, Northridge Lions Club and the St. Andrews Masonic Lodge #619. He was also a Cub Scout Leader of Den 6, Pack 137. He worked for International Harvester for over 30 years, retiring as a Production Manager. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and camping at their campsite near Zainesfield, OH.

Mort is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Linda (Ginn) Pence whom he married on November 29, 1958. He is also survived by his two sons, Brad Pence and Jeff (Jessica) Pence and grandchildren, Quinten Pence, Audrey Fields and Cameron Jenkins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, David Pence and a sister, Dixie Hone.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 5:00 PM followed by funeral services at 6:00PM in the Walter & Lewis Funeral Home, 642 S. Main Street, Urbana, OH. Military Honors will be presented by members of the US Navy.
