Jamie Russell Mangus, age 53 of Urbana, Ohio passed away unexpectedly April 29, 2025. He was born May 31, 1971 in Urbana, Ohio, the son of Floyd and Connie (Bailey) Mangus. Jamie was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charles and Evelyn Bailey Sr., paternal grandparents, Gladys Schmidt and Cecil Mangus, and brother-in-law, Mike Boettcher.
Jamie was a 1989 graduate of Urbana High School. For the past five years, Jamie was employed by Amazon at the West Jefferson facility where he became a cherished figure among his co-workers. His capacity to infuse joy into the daily grind left a mark on those fortunate enough to work alongside him. Everyone who encountered Jamie was touched by his spirit and quick wit. Beyond the workplace, Jamie wore many hats, but none were as cherished as that of a devoted father. He found immense joy in supporting his children, taking pride in watching Seth play on the baseball field and enthusiastically supporting Bailey in all his activities. Each game was a cherished memory. An unwavering fan of Michigan football, his passion for the Wolverines was well-known, and watching the sport brought him great happiness, often shared with family and friends who too enjoyed the game.
Jamie was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.
