Kathleen Elaine Russell

Kathleen “Kathy” Elaine (Brookhart) Russell, age 82 of Urbana, Ohio passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at the Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born March 11, 1944 in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of the late Franklin LeRoy and Wilma (Baker) Brookhart. Kathy, lovingly known as K. Russ, is survived by her daughter, Bethany Russell, grandson, Tyson Brown, nephews, Ben and Brian Yocum, and loving companion, Jeff Metz. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jeff Russell and sister, Becky Yocum. Kathy worked for Assurant in Springfield for over 20 years until her eventual retirement. Her greatest pride and joy was her only grandchild, Tyson. She cherished every moment she could spend making memories with him. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Kathy will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure to know and love her.
