Laverne Bender

Laverne Bender, 89, of Urbana, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017 in Mercy Health-Urbana Hospital.
He was born on June 19, 1928 in Clarence, NY, a son of Milton and Magdalina (Roth) Bender. He worked as a concrete/ready-mix truck driver and had attended The Chapel in Amherst, NY.
Survivors include sons, Thomas (Deanna) Bender and James (Shelley) Bender; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and brother, Lavant Bender.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen (Shank) Bender; and a son, David Bender.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
