Martha Jane Streator

Martha Jane Streator, affectionately known as Marti, passed away peacefully at her home on July 22, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on January 22, 1946, in Urbana, Ohio, Marti was raised on a farm in Mechanicsburg, where she developed a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for the land. She graduated from Mechanicsburg High School in 1964, embarking on a journey that would lead her to a distinguished career as a Senior Quality Engineer for 42 years, ultimately retiring from Grimes/Honeywell.

Marti was more than her professional accomplishments; she was a cherished member of several communities. As a devoted member of the Urbana United Methodist Church, Grimes Quarter Century Club, Twig 13, and the Central Ohio Emmaus Community, she fostered connections that enriched her life and those around her. Marti had a passion for reading and devoted a portion of her time to being a court-appointed guardian, offering support and care to others in need.

Her legacy is carried on by her loving family, including her son Brent Streator, her sister Marilyn Hiltibran, and her brothers Jack (Louelle) Bailey and Richard (Ann) Bailey. In addition, she leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom will remember her warmth and kindness.

Marti will be dearly missed by those who had the privilege to know her. She was preceded in death by her father, Harvey Bailey, her mother, Irene (Mossbarger) Bailey, her brother Jim (Linda) Bailey, and her brother-in-law Ed Hiltibran.

The visitation for Marti will be held on July 26, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with a funeral service to follow at 4:00 PM, both taking place at the Walter & Lewis Funeral Home. 

Marti's spirit will continue to inspire and guide her loved ones as they celebrate her life and the love she so generously shared with everyone around her.
