Mary Ann Metherd

Mary Ann Metherd, age 92, of Urbana, Ohio, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2026.

She was born January 12, 1934, in Urbana, OH, a daughter of Fred H. and Juanita

(Rickard) Chrisman.

Mary Ann was a member of the Urbana United Methodist Church, a CRSI Board

member for over 30 years and retired from Champaign County Department of Job and

Family Services. After her retirement she worked as a Prearrangement Specialist at

Walter’s Funeral Home. She enjoyed cooking dinners for her family, gardening, home

décor, playing cards and going to flea markets. She also was a volunteer for many other

local organizations and served on numerous committees in the Urbana community.

She is survived by her children, Chuck Metherd, Marilyn Metherd Adams and Beth

Metherd all of Urbana and Jim Metherd of Osceola, Indiana; grandchildren, Elijah

(Jillian) Metherd of Georgetown, South Carolina and Sarah (Greg) Holland of Urbana,

Josh Adams, Jesse (Britnee) Adams of Springfield and Samantha Metherd of Osceola,

Indiana; great grandchildren, Jay Adams, Julie Adams and Alexander Metherd; sister,

Jean Runkle and a sister-in-law, Beverly Chrisman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Juanita Chrisman and siblings,

Fred Chrisman, Jr., Louise Massie, Ronald Chrisman, Wanda McKeever and Larry

Chrisman.

A visitation will be Friday, May 1, 2026, from 11:00AM until 1:00PM in the Walter &

Lewis Funeral Home, 642 S. Main Street, Urbana, Ohio with funeral services at 1:00PM.

Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana.
