Michael Joseph Evangelisti, beloved husband, father, and grandpa, passed away on December 13, 2025, at the Hospice of Miami County in Troy, Ohio. He was born on November 25, 1949, in Torrington, Connecticut, to David Joseph Evangelisti and Faustina Eleanor (Fabbri) Evangelisti, both of whom preceded him in death. Mike was also preceded in death by his daughter, Maria Evangelisti, his son, Joseph Evangelisti, and his brother, Peter Evangelisti.
A devoted husband of 46 years to Ruth (Weatherall) Evangelisti, Mike was deeply committed to his family, including daughters Anita (Mathias) Odegard, Emily (Joe) Berrien, Martha Evangelisti, Rachel (Chesley) Libby, and Lydia (Peter Garde) Evangelisti; his sons David (Kristine) Evangelisti, Philip (Ellen) Evangelisti, and Mark Evangelisti; and his sisters Beverly Usher and Linda Bertaccini, as well as his brother David "Butch" Evangelisti. To his grandchildren: Ayla, Gali, Izzy, Jolie, Liam, Sienna, Lucas, Elea, Lucy, Lily, Everlee, Oliver, Daisy, and Hazel, he was the world’s best grandpa.
Mike was known for his fun-loving spirit, possessing a unique ability to see the world through a child's eyes. As a great storyteller, he captivated those around him with both meaningful and lighthearted stories. He worked at Honda in Marysville for 18 years before retiring. Mike was an active member of Urbana Christian Fellowship, where he was involved in Sunday School and youth activities for many years, reflecting his dedication to his faith and community. He loved the great outdoors and enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, and walks in nature.
A visitation will be held on January 5, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Urbana Christian Fellowship church, located at 1778 OH-29, Urbana, OH 43078. A funeral service will follow on January 6, 2026, beginning at 1:00 PM officiated by Pastor Barry Couts, also at the church.
Mike Evangelisti will be dearly missed, but his spirit and stories will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He has gone to be with the Lord, leaving behind a legacy of love, joy and cherished memories.
