Mirian (Marian) Arlen Bowers

Mirian (Marian) Arlen Bowers, 95, of Urbana, Ohio passed away on Nov. 21, 2021 in her home surrounded by her family and friends. Mirian was born on September 29, 1926, in Champaign County, the daughter of the late Frank and Grace (Dibert) Bowers. Mirian resided at Scioto St. Champaign Residential Intermediate Care Facility. She and Than Johnson would go to the State House Conventions and advocate for people with disabilities over the years. She worked at Lawnview Industries for over 35 years. Mirian loved anything that was red to wear, enjoyed watching the Buckeye’s, and going places, especially out to eat. She is survived by her housemates and staff, Tammy, Michelle, Ashley, Amy, Angie, Chantelle, Pat, Randi, Grace, Eva, Kirstin, Sara, Britney, Aubrey and Nurse Autumn. Special thanks to Vitas Healthcare staff, Tracy and Jeanette and Alyssa Dunham. She is also survived by her special friends, Big E and friends from Lawnview and Alix Good. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Zelpha. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 from 11a.m.-12p.m. at Walter & Lewis Funeral Home with service beginning at 12p.m. Burial will follow at Oak Dale Cemetery.
