Richard Rick Parsons, age 68, of West Liberty, passed away Friday, October 10, 2014 at OSU Wexner Medical Center. He was born September 27, 1946 in Barnesville, OH to Richard Dick & Bette (Cater) Parsons. He graduated from Urbana High School in 1964 and served in the Ohio Army National Guard. He retired from Honda in 2004 from the motorcycle plant. He was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather and loyal friend. His love in life was his cars. He started this with his father and carried it through his life with all his car buddies. He would take an old car or truck, strip it down, and totally rebuild it. He would eventually sell it and start over again. He enjoyed travelling to different cities and states to hotrod car shows with his cars and trucks, and won many awards and trophies. If he wasnt at a car show, he was at his grandkids events, and especially enjoyed meeting with his Friday Lunch Crew. Rick is survived by his daughter, Traci (Mike) Perry of North Lewisburg; sons, Jeff (Barb) Woodruff of Jacksonville, FL, Matt Woodruff of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, Brezlin, Slade, Braxton, Baylor, and Adler Perry, Zach (Meagan), Scott (Alex), Eli, Grace, Zane Woodruff; great granddaughter, Lilly; sister, Pam Parramore of Centerville, OH, and nephew, Drew Parramore of Waynesville, OH. He is preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 from 5:00-8:00pm in Walter & Smith Funeral Home. The celebration of his life service will be Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 11:00am at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at Fairfield Cemetery in Fairborn, OH at a later date.
