Robert W. Behling, age 79 passed away Thursday April 14 at OSU Medical Center. He was born January 11, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah to the late Wesley and Aleda (Tingey) Behling.
He graduated from the University of Utah and worked as a surveyor for the Bureau of Reclamation and in construction on the Flaming Gorge Dam, Utah. He also worked as a computer programmer/analyst at Hill Air Force Base, Utah before transferring to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in 1971. In 1974 he bought a farm in Urbana, Ohio. He continued to farm and work at Wright-Patterson until 1982 when he began farming full time. He loved being his own boss and many times said “I just love dirt”.
Bob is survived by his wife Barbara (Sinclair); sister Kathryn (Michael) Sorich and their sons David (Lara), Jonathan, and Jeffery Sorich;
brother-in-law and sister-in-law James and Patricia Sinclair and their children Carrie (PJ), Todd (Amanda), Melinda (Jennie), Mark (Taylor), and Molly (fiancé Eddie) Sinclair. He is also survived by 9 great nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Patricia and her husband Phelps Helvenston and niece Amelia Sorich.
A memorial gathering will be held Tuesday April 19, 2022 from 4:30 - 7:00 PM at Bauer Stoves and Fireplaces event room 3548 State Route 54, Urbana, Oh.
