Roger William Harness

Roger William Harness, Sr., 84, of Urbana, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 23, 2016. He was born on February 11, 1932 in Xenia, OH, a son of Ralph and Clara (Brouse) Harness. Roger graduated from Xenia High School, served his country in the U.S. Army and retired from International Harvester/Navistar. He loved good food and talking with people. Roger lived for his kids and grandkids. Survivors include his children, Roger (Michelle) Harness, Rick Harness, Lisa (Todd) Pratt and Steve (Victoria) Harness; grandchildren, Justin, Rogie, David, Matt, Alex, Makenzie, Zach, Cameron, Ryan, Brandon, Tyler, Ashley, Austin, Tori and Cara; great-grandchildren, Aria and Lexi; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jeannette Adkins, brother, Ralph Jr. Harness; and former wife, Joan Fent. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 in the WALTER & STOWE FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, where a memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. with Bill Blaine officiating.
