Rovella Jackson, 101, graciously accepted her call home by Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Rovella will be holy reunited to her dearly loved Edward in eternal rest.
Rovella was born February 16, 1916 in Ridgeway, OH to the late Ephraim and Amanda (Kinchlow) Scott.
Rovella was preceded by husband Edward Jackson; daughter Ramona J. Howell; sons, Ralph E. “Butch” Jackson and Marvin L Jackson and his wife, Saundra; grandson Henry H. Howell, Jr.; brothers Calvin Scott, Charles Scott and Everett Scott; and sisters, Mursie Benton, Hettie Mobley, Gladys Johnson, Arreata Stewart, Monzella Scott, Winifred Jackson, Mildred Andrews and LaJune White; brothers-in-law, David W. Jackson and Martin L. Jackson.
Rovella was a remarkable lady of great strength and will power, a good and faithful servant of the Lord and family, very sentimental, loved to cook, loved music, avid Buckeyes, Reds, Browns and Bengals fan, always had a loving smile for everyone.
Rovella was a resident of the McAuley Center for 8 1/2 years to whom we give thanks to for our mother’s elderly care.
Rovella leaves three sons who will embrace and cherish her precious memory: Robert A. Jackson, Sr. of Springfield, OH, Roussel S. (Linda) Jackson of Urbana, OH and Kenneth E. Jackson of Worthington, OH.
In addition, Rovella is survived by 24 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, June Jackson of Bellefontaine, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rovella was a member of the Jerusalem Second Baptist Church for 75 years.
Family will receive friends in the WALTER & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME, 642 S. Main St. Urbana from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, June 12, 2017. Rovella’s Homegoing will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 in the Jerusalem Second Baptist Church, 1036 S. High St., Urbana, with the Rev. Michael Freeman officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana, OH.
