Ruth Viola Brown

Ruth Viola (Anderson) Brown, 97, of Urbana, died Wednesday, March 19, 2014 in her residence at Rotary Manor where she has resided for over 20 years. She was born February 19, 1917 in Clark County, Catawba, OH, the daughter of Wilbur and Ida (Bowen) Anderson. Survivors include her daughters, Joyce (Clarence) Tallman of Urbana, and Sandra Kay Burden of Bainbridge; sons, Edwin Earl Brown of Urbana, Wilbur (Diann) Brown of Fairborn, Richard (Joyce) Brown of Marco Island, FL, Eugene (Dorothy) Brown of Myrtle Beach, SC, Robert (Debbie) Brown of Huntingtown, MD, and Ross Thomas Brown of Waller, TX; 99 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; beloved sister-in-law, Doris Anderson; and special brother-in-law, Myron Mike Maddex. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Ross Brown, in 2000; daughter, Phyllis Ray; grandson, Andrew Paul Brown; sisters, Leah Waldeck and Wilma Jean Maddex; brothers, George Anderson and Dominic Anderson. The family will receive friends from 3:30-5 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2014 in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, where a service will be held at 5 p.m. with Pastor Jim Chess officiating.
